Solutronic rolls out new products at Intersolar - spotlight on energy
management and own-energy consumption

- Strategic positioning in key segments - energy management and
own-energy consumption

- New Solutronic inverter integrated into energy storage system

- Low end of product portfolio added to

- Energy management optimised

Köngen, 23 May 2011 - Solutronic AG, a technology leader in the development
of solar inverters, is strengthening its position in the areas of energy
management and the consumption of 'self-generated' electricity, while also
expanding its product portfolio. This year's Intersolar trade fair will see
Solutronic presumably be the first solar company to launch an intelligent,
fully inverter-integrated energy management system that enables
owner-operators to analyse and optimise their own in-house power usage.
This solution eradicates any need for additional external equipment for
metering, evaluating and controlling the consumption of
on-premises-generated electricity. What's more, targeted control of
in-house consumption allows the operator of a solar power system to
maximise their financial benefit from state subsidy programmes that aim to
promote the consumption of self-generated electricity.

Working hand in hand with E3/DC GmbH, a specialist in the design of systems
for in-house solar power usage, Solutronic has developed a mini solar power
plant that end customers can genuinely afford. This plant enables family
homes and small businesses to generate, consume and store their own solar
energy using equipment that is not overly complex, is decentralised and

reasonably priced. A key component of this high-efficiency mini solar power
plant is the SOLPLUS 40S2 inverter, which Solutronic also plans to roll out
as a separate product in 2012.

'We see a definite trend towards decentralised supply. As grid parity
approaches, the significance of cost-effective energy management and
storage solutions grows. As a company strong on development, we're quickly
gearing ourselves up for this trend so we can profit fully and sustainably
from it,' says Wieland Scheuerle, CTO of Solutronic.

In addition to these energy management and own-consumption products,
Solutronic will also be exhibiting the SOLPLUS 15, a new inverter that is
rated for up to 1.5 kW and rounds off the bottom end of the company's
product range. Market launch of the SOLPLUS 15 is scheduled for Q4 of 2011,
with the target markets taking in Australia, Italy, France and the
Netherlands, among others. This inverter is suitable for installation in
small systems, and when installed in combination with several units in a PV
installation, also enables small roof areas facing in different directions
and with different shadowing conditions to be optimally fitted with panels.

'We're using this fair to demonstrate how efficiently our products can
generate and deploy solar power. We want to offer our customers products
that are not only impressive ecologically and economically, but also make
their owners independent of the big utilities and power supply providers,'
explains Uwe Scobel-Freimüller, CSO at Solutronic AG.

About Solutronic AG

Solutronic AG, founded back in 2004, develops and markets transformerless,
grid-connected inverters for photovoltaic installations. PV inverters
convert the direct current generated by solar modules to alternating
current so that it can be fed into the power supply system. In FY 2010,
Solutronic generated sales of EUR20.1m and posted an EBIT amounting to
EUR4.7m. Solutronic has made a conscious decision not to manufacture the
products it develops itself, but to exploit the expertise of electronic
manufacturing servicers headquartered in Germany. Based in the small town
of Köngen near Stuttgart, Germany, it sees itself as a leading supplier of
top-quality, cutting-edge, grid-connected inverters for photovoltaic
installations. Its inverters, which cover nominal AC power ratings from 2.5
to 30 kW, are software-controlled and therefore facilitate innovative
monitoring and communications functions. Furthermore, they feature high
efficiency levels of up to 98% and extremely low failure rates. Thanks to
its development expertise, innovative business model and sophisticated
quality management regime, Solutronic is in an excellent position to
systematically expand its share of the global inverter market.
