SmartMetric Says the Day of the Password Is Numbered -- JP Morgan Chase Data Breach Shows the Failure of Passwords

(firmenpresse) - NEW YORK, NY -- (Marketwired) -- 10/08/14 -- SmartMetric, Inc. (OTCQB: SMME) -- The recent 70 million account data breach at JP Morgan Chase reveals more than the precarious safety of our information. It has come to light that the breach was caused by data thieves obtaining access to the Bank's servers using an administrator's password. SmartMetric says the reliance at all levels of data security on passwords is like relying on a bow and arrow for defence in the age of the machine gun. Speaking today the company President and CEO Chaya Hendrick said while networks and access control systems still rely on old technology such as passwords they will remain vulnerable to attack. SmartMetric uses biometrics as the security key rather than passwords on its payment cards, access control cards and identity verification cards. By using fingerprint biometrics built inside its cards SmartMetric has developed a much safer security platform that turns the person into the key.
