Our Brewmaster, Paul Gautreau, has a deep affection for Belgian beers. So much so that he spent 10 days in Belgium last fall on an inspiration tour with our CEO and President, Bob Sartor. This week we are thrilled to offer the first of what we hope to be many Belgian Style beers that are influenced by this adventure.
Abandoned Abbey is classified a Quadruple / Dark Strong Ale. It is a complex beer with a rich malty sweetness and fruity esters of raisin, plum and fig notes. At a hearty 9.2% abv you will experience smooth but noticeable alcohol warmth and a full body. "I consider Belgian brewers to be some of the best in the world," said Paul. "I am very pleased with the result of our effort in brewing this wonderful Belgian style."
