DEAG sets up new Family Entertainment subsidiary
With 'Grandezza Entertainment' new growth potential for shared experiences
is to be tapped
Berlin, 6. July 2011 - With the setting up of its new subsidiary 'Grandezza
Entertainment GmbH', DEAG Deutsche Entertainment AG (ISIN DE000A0Z23G6)
intends to enlarge its portfolio by adding Family Entertainment, which has
so far been neglected in Germany. As a promoter DEAG already has a leading
position in the field of Classical Music and is one of the market leaders
in the fields of Pop and Rock music. With the beginning of the second half
of 2011 it extends its activities to Family Entertainment. Thomas Schütte
will act as Managing Director and Partner of the new company. He can rely
on extensive expert knowledge in the field, inter alia as managing director
of many years of the Roncalli Group. DEAG will hold a majority stake in the
new company.
'Classical Family Entertainment is still underdeveloped in Germany compared
to the Anglo-
Saxon countries. We clearly want to set new trends on this growth market.
With the expertise of Thomas Schütte in production and our experience in
the organization of tours we complement each other perfectly', DEAG CEO
Prof Peter Schwenkow is pleased to stress. First activities of the new
company Grandezza will be consulting for AndréHeller's 'Magnifico' as well
as a remake of Europe's largest magic production 'Zauber Zauber - Revue der
Wunder'.
Family Entertainment is normally defined as general entertainment and
cultural offerings, which address in a generation-spanning approach people
of all ages and occupations and social structures. 'Shared experiences for
young and not so young audiences based on family-friendly ticket prices are
only available in a few cases at present. We have identified this need and
want to become initiators for many new dynamic projects', says Thomas
Schütte.
Professor Peter L.H. Schwenkow and Thomas Schütte have been cooperating on
a large number of projects for many years. The two promoters produced
successful shows such as the by now legendary magician revue 'Zauber,
Zauber', AndréHeller's 'Salut - für letzte Könner aussterbender Künste des
Varietés', the Clown Parade 'LachenMachen', 'AndréHeller's Chinesischer
Nationalcirkus', the Broadway Show 'Body&Soul' and also Herman van Veen's
family musical 'Alfred Jodocus Kwak'. Further renowned projects of
Schwenkow and Schütte include the foundation of the popular 'Musikfeste auf
dem Lande' within the framework of the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival,
concerts with Plácido Domingo and Yehudi Menuhin, but also rock
music events with Michael Jackson, Prince or Pink Floyd.
During the last two decades Thomas Schütte transformed, more particularly,
Circus Roncalli from a circus undertaking into a diversified entertainment
company. The 53 year old will work on the Grandezza projects primarily from
the new location in Essen.
