Effective July 22, 2011, WEBER-HYDRAULIK, a leading international
provider of customized hydraulic drive and control engineering solutions,
acquired U.S.-based Hyco International Inc. from U.S. financial investor
Centre Partners Management LLC.
With manufacturing locations in Canada, the U.S., Brazil and Germany, Hyco
International Inc. is a global supplier of hydraulic cylinders. With 600
employees and an annual turnover of approximately EUR 100 million, HYCO's
products are used in forestry and construction machinery, refuse handling
equipment, dump trucks, oil and gas field installations and cranes, as well
as mining and agricultural equipment.
WEBER-HYDRAULIK, headquartered in Güglingen, north of Stuttgart, is a 100%
family-owned company with annual sales of over EUR 200 million. The
company, which has approximately 1,250 employees in several international
locations, designs and produces customized hydraulic components and systems
for commercial vehicles, mobile cranes, agricultural and construction
machines, fork-lift trucks, as well as utility vehicles and industrial
equipment, among others. Additionally, WEBER-RESCUE SYSTEMS, which ranks
highly for design, quality and reliability among all major international
manufacturers of hydraulic rescue tools, has successfully positioned itself
in the solar power sector, supplying hydraulic drive systems for solar
power installations.
'With the acquisition of HYCO by WEBER-HYDRAULIK we gain a valuable
addition and further diversification of our product and technology
portfolio to our group, while significantly expanding our market presence
in North and South America and in Europe. The expansion of our
international presence enhances our position with our multi-national
customers, an important factor in our continued profitable global growth.
Furthermore, with this acquisition we strengthen our already powerful team
with additional highly experienced hydraulic experts. The significant
benefits and synergies developed through the broadening of our
international customer base through the existing HYCO customers will
provide opportunities for WEBER-HYDRAULIK to continue the success in
global markets for sophisticated hydraulic systems,' said CEO Bernhard
Herzig.
The Willkie team advising WEBER-HYDRAULIK was led by Dr. Stefan Joergens
(Corporate/Private Equity, Frankfurt) and included partners Gordon Caplan
