W. Scott Thurlow Announces Departure from CRFA

(firmenpresse) - OTTAWA, ONTARIO -- (Marketwired) -- 10/29/14 -- Mr. W. Scott Thurlow today announced he has stepped down as President of the Canadian Renewable Fuels Association (CRFA) to pursue new opportunities. During his tenure, Mr. Thurlow oversaw the introduction of Ontario's milestone Greener Diesel mandate and unveiled the CRFA's new vision document and action plan, Evolution and Growth.

"As the recent past has proven, a thriving and fully realized domestic renewable fuels industry is more than possible -- it is viable and working in Canada," said Mr. Thurlow in making the announcement. "The new CRFA vision and action plan builds on this success. It is an ideal time for me to seek out new opportunities and challenges."

"I want to thank the Board of Directors and the members of the CRFA for their efforts and leadership," continued Mr. Thurlow. "Thanks to their dedication, Canada's renewable fuels industry is now returning over $3.5 billion in economic activity every year while reducing carbon emissions by 4.2 megatonnes, which is equivalent to removing one million cars from our roads."

CRFA Chair Mr. Scott Lewis said the said the Board of Directors would be announcing plans for succession. "We thank Scott for his service and dedication to the renewable fuels sector in Canada," said Mr. Lewis, "We wish him every success as he embarks on the next stage of his career."
