Southern Hemisphere Provides Further Details on New Copper Project: Llahuin
(firmenpresse) - PERTH, WESTERN AUSTRALIA -- (Marketwire) -- 07/14/11 -- Further to its release of 13 July 2011, international mining company Southern Hemisphere Mining Limited ("Southern Hemisphere" or the "Company") (TSX VENTURE: SH)(ASX: SUH) provides the following additional information with respect to its new project, Llahuin.
Project Location
The Llahuin Project is located close to the city of Illapel, 250km north of Santiago, Chile.

The Project comprises two elements: the Amapola Group of Exploitation Licences (the "Amapola Group") and the Llanos Group of Exploitation Licences (the "Llanos Group"). The relative positioning of the licence groups is shown below.

Southern Hemisphere has executed an Option to purchase the Amapola Group, which consists of four discrete Exploitation Licences covering an area of 772 hectares. A location map of the Amapola Group licences is shown below:

The Company will also enter into a separate option agreement to purchase the Llanos Group once due diligence on the licence areas is completed. The Llanos Group consists of six Exploitation Licences covering an area of 31 hectares and will be acquired from the same vendor as the Amapola Group, Chilean resident Mr Sebastian Astudillo.
The Llanos Group of Exploitation Licences cover an underground mine that has had several phases of activity over the last 100 years.
Previous Exploration Activity
There have been various past activities on the Amapolo group of licenses including two drill holes completed in 2004 and the excavation by artisanal miners of an open pit and underground headings. Details of the past drilling are not available.

Sampling and Analysis Procedures
The samples were sent to Andes Analytical Assay Ltda (Chile) in Santiago for sample preparation and analysis.
Analysis was undertaken using atomic absorption spectrometry methods. Andes Analytical Assay Ltda (Chile) is an independent full service commercial laboratory accredited under ISO 9001:2008.
Competent Person / Qualified Person Statement
Trevor Tennant (Managing Director - Southern Hemisphere), a Member of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy, is a 'Competent Person' as defined in the 2004 Edition of the 'Australasian Code for Reporting of Exploration Results, Mineral Resources and Ore Reserves' and is a 'Qualified Person' under National Instrument 43-101 - 'Standards of Disclosure for Mineral Projects'.
Mr. Tennant was responsible for the design and conduct of this exploration campaign, supervised the preparation of the technical information in this release and has the relevant experience and competence of the subject matter.
Mr. Tennant consents to the inclusion of exploration results and other such information in this news release in the form and context in which it appears.
