November is Lung Month

(firmenpresse) - OTTAWA, ONTARIO -- (Marketwired) -- 11/03/14 -- November is national Lung Month and to celebrate, the Canadian Lung Association is urging everyone to think about breathing and why lung health is so important to them and their loved ones.
Across the country, there will be a variety of activities, in person and online, to make Canadians more aware of how precious our lungs and our breathing is for all.
During Lung Month, the Canadian Lung Association is asking everyone share a breathtaking picture with friends and family through social media. It's simple and easy to participate. Here's how:
1) Post your most breathtaking pic and add #mybreathtakingpic
2) Include a short message: "Post a pic that takes your breath away and give Canadians with lung disease a chance to breathe easier"
3) Nominate a friend and get them to do the same
4) Ask your family and friends to support The Lung Association by donating to
November also sees the launch of Breathing as One, a national fundraising campaign aimed at bringing patients, researchers and donors together to breathe new life into lung research. The Breathing as One campaign will break down the barriers that impede advances in our understanding, prevention and treatment of lung disease, and allow us to go further than traditional lung research, ultimately reducing risk, discovering breathing breakthroughs and saving lives. November is also national Radon Action Month and the Canadian Lung Association is urging all Canadians to test their homes for radon. Radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer in Canada.
