II asked portfolio managers and sell-side analysts to name the best CEOs, CFOs, and investor-relations professionals at the U.S. companies they cover, and to evaluate these companies on their performance in each of eight IR attributes, including access to senior management, quality and depth of answers to inquiries, transparency of financial reporting and disclosure, and so on.
Freeport-McMoRan, a copper and gold mining outfit based in Phoenix, captures the No. 2 spot this year. In third and fourth places, respectively, are oilfield services provider Halliburton Co. and oil and gas pipeline operator Enterprise Products Partners; these companies are both headquartered in Houston. Rounding out the top five is Riverwoods, Illinois-based credit issuer Discover Financial Services.
Winners will be honored at a dinner and ceremony on Thursday, March 5, at the Mandarin Oriental in New York.
The 2015 All-America Executive Team reflects the opinions of more than 1,250 buy-side analysts and money managers at 660 firms that collectively manage an estimated $7.8 trillion in U.S. equities, and from more than 1,000 analysts from over 150 sell-side firms.
