Tax Tip: Teaching Taxes to Students Is as Easy As 1, 2, 3

The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) has free tax and financial literacy learning resources to help educators teach their students about taxes. Teaching Taxes and Responsible Citizenship and Canada's Tax System are two educator-led learning units that introduce students to Canada's tax system, teach them how to prepare a simple income tax and benefit return and explore the relationship between Canada's tax system and the quality of life in Canada.

Teaching Taxes

This free learning product provides students with the tools and skills they need to increase their knowledge of the Canadian tax system, and help them meet their tax obligations. Targeted at high school and post-secondary students, the program is made up of 180 minutes of in-class instruction and student exercises available in electronic or printed workbooks. The topics covered include:
