Low Labour Force Participation Trend the Concern

(firmenpresse) - TORONTO, ONTARIO -- (Marketwired) -- 11/07/14 -- Bob Funk, CEO of Express Employment Professionals, today issued the following statement on today's Statistic Canada Labour Force Survey which showed the Canadian economy added 43,000 jobs in October pushing the unemployment rate down to 6.5%, the lowest since November 2008. The labour force participation rate remained unchanged at 66%:

"The October job numbers are encouraging, and the good news is there is still plenty of room to grow. There are a lot of good jobs out there, and we need to continue to encourage people to go out and seize the opportunity," Funk said. "Our staffing franchisees across the country try to fill thousands of jobs everyday, but many of them remain unfilled. The issue going forward is not, 'Are there jobs?' The issue is, 'How do we encourage people to get back to work?' Month after month the trend line is clear: we need to watch the low labour force participation."
