SUP was yesterday, the world of todays trend sports has become richer by a new attraction – SUPstacle!
(firmenpresse) - A new star is born! SUPstacle, a combination of SUP and obstacle course and the change of the often humdrum world of stand up paddling.
Stand up paddling is a type of water sport in which the athlete stands on a large, very wide surfboard using a paddle and his body for determining direction and speed of the board. Balance and agility are particularly important for this challenge. Today’s SUP competitions are dominated by long and short distance races. SUPstacle, as pun of stand up paddling (SUP) and obstacle, crosses such races with an exciting obstacle course and brings a fresh breeze to the board sports scene. This further development of the sport makes it particularly exciting for both participants and spectators. SUP becomes „SUP`n´Run“ – more fun, more action, more than stand up paddling!
The target group addressed by the SUPstacle challenge is just like you would imagine it to be: young or young at heart, sportive, open-minded, trendsetting first movers. Moreover, SUPstacle is attractive for professional stand up paddlers who are seeking a new challenge and also for complete beginners of all ages. A family-friendly event that comes to the target group and not vice versa. The inflatable SUPstacle obstacles and the variable course design even works in a small space and provide the mobility of the concept and compared to other kinds of water sports SUPstacle does not rely on the presence of waves or wind. This way SUPstacle is particularly suitable for calm waters and the perfect sport for the city.
The water sports station Sandwiginger at Sandwig beach at the Flensburg Fjord of the sport marketing and event agency Sportschatz GmbH is the birthplace of SUPstacle. Here the idea was born and a new and exciting sport was developed. In the summer of 2014 the evolution of water sports has its world premiere at the Ocean Jumps at the sailing festival Kieler Woche. And now you can find SUPstacle everywhere there where water and courageous athletes meet.
