Regions that require fine contouring or have more fibrous fatty tissue, including the upper abdomen and upper back, may benefit from other techniques. This method may also require a longer recovery period, he says, and patients who have a significant amount of tissue removed may experience some skin laxity.
Ultimately, Dr. Chung believes patients' needs and goals are unique, and finding the appropriate liposuction method for each individual requires a thorough examination and a customized treatment plan. He also emphasizes the importance of seeking a highly qualified, board-certified plastic surgeon with extensive experience in a variety of liposuction techniques. To achieve the best possible results, he says, a surgeon needs to have the latest technology at his disposal so he can address patient concerns with the most effective approach.
A board-certified plastic surgeon, received his medical degree from the University of California, San Francisco. He then completed an additional eight years of post-doctoral training, including Fellowship Training in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of California, San Diego Medical Center.
