Mikal to Serve Four-Year Term on Board That Supports Humanities in Colorado


(firmenpresse) - DENVER, CO -- (Marketwire) -- 07/19/11 -- Lindsey Mikal, practice director of , has been elected to Colorado Humanities' Board of Directors for a four-year term that began June 25. Colorado Humanities is a non-profit educational organization dedicated to supporting high-quality literary, cultural and historical programs throughout Colorado. Members of the Board help bring the humanities to life in Colorado by developing, supporting and evaluating a broad range of humanities programs and activities for K-12 students and adults, considering grant proposals, serving on committees and aiding fundraising efforts.

Colorado Humanities is supported by federal and private funds and is an independent affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities.

The Colorado Humanities Board of Directors is comprised of 25 members; 19 elected by the Board, 6 appointed by the Governor of Colorado. Nominations are accepted on an on-going basis and are considered as positions become vacant. Mikal was elected to the Board during its June meeting.

As practice director of CSG|PR's , Lindsey leads the development and execution of public relations and media strategy for clients in the K-20 higher education space. Before joining CSG|PR, Lindsey worked in Washington, D.C., most recently as assistant director of media relations at the National Endowment for the Humanities, an independent grant-making agency of the federal government. Previously, she served as director of communications at the Senior Executives Association, a Washington, D.C.,-based non-profit professional association.
