Dr. Marcia Ormsby Reflects on Her Recent Visit to Egypt, Where She Volunteered Her Time and Expertise to Teach Plastic Surgery Residents at a Military Hospital

Ormsby, MD, a , was asked to visit Cairo, Egypt to train their plastic surgery residents. Delighted by the opportunity to volunteer her time and expertise to help improve their skills, Dr. Ormsby , present to medical professionals, and perform surgery on those in need.
While in Cairo, Dr. Ormsby conducted a variety of surgical procedures of the face, breast, and body. Such procedures included , facelift, , and breast augmentation. She notes that while she performed a wide array of surgeries, she noticed common problems among the clinic patients were prominent noses, obesity, scar deformities, and similar concerns.
In addition to helping these people, Dr. Ormsby says that she thoroughly explained diagnoses and treatment plans to the residents to help them understand her methods. She recounts her experience saying, "I very much enjoyed the teaching that I was able to deliver, as well as the care that was so vastly needed."
Dr. Ormsby says she was very appreciative of the hard-working group of people at the hospital and described them as courteous, hospitable, and respectful. With such eagerness to learn, she explains that teaching and encouraging these individuals was "irresistible". Although her time in Cairo was short, "I am so grateful for the opportunity to visit this wonderful country and for the shared information in my specialty."
