#FLM2014: FCAC Announces Winners of My Financial Literacy Selfie Contest

Following the close of Financial Literacy Month (FLM) at the end of November, the Financial Consumer Agency of Canada (FCAC) is pleased to announce the winners of its #FLM2014 My Financial Literacy Selfie contest.
Focused on encouraging consumers to demonstrate their financial literacy efforts, this year's contest invited Canadians to show off their financial skills by taking a selfie depicting how they were putting their financial literacy skills to use, or how they were helping to strengthen the financial literacy of others.
An FCAC jury narrowed the entries down to 12 finalists, followed by a second jury who selected the top three winners based on originality, quality and adherence to the theme. The winners are:
One of the 12 finalists also had an opportunity to win a special People's Choice Award: a $50 iTunes gift card for the photo with the most likes on Facebook. That prize went to Lucas Buck, a eight-year-old from Squamish, British Columbia.
A second People's Choice Award, a $50 iTunes gift card, was awarded for the photograph out of the 65 contestants entered, who received the most likes on Facebook. Lindsey and Naomi Puddicombe, 15 and 12 years old, from Waverly, Nova Scotia, won the participants' People's Choice for a photo that received 206 Facebook likes.
