Industrial Info Tracks $590 Billion in Planned 2015 North American Project Starts
(firmenpresse) - SUGAR LAND, TX -- (Marketwired) -- 12/22/14 -- As of mid-December 2014, Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas) is tracking more than 8,800 capital and maintenance projects with a combined total investment value of $590 billion that are currently planned to kick off in North America in 2015. Approximately 3,600 of these projects are for planned maintenance, while the remainder, valued at approximately $579 billion, are for planned capital projects.
Of course, not all of these projects will make it to the construction phase. Many will be put on hold or canceled, or the construction date will be pushed outside of the upcoming calendar year. For example, at the beginning of 2014, Industrial Info was tracking $580.5 billion of planned project starts for the year. By the end of November, the value of planned 2014 project starts had declined 57.5% to $247 billion, which still represented a higher value of spending than in previous years.
