Disruptions continue in OP's online services
(Thomson Reuters ONE) -
Denial-of-services attacks are still causing disruptions in OP's online
services. The malicious traffic has been exceptionally heavy. We are paying
close attention to the availability of our services. The security level has been
raised and traffic from abroad has been restricted.
The security level of OP's data communications has been increased for the time
being and corrective measures are in progress to ensure that our customers can
access services as normal. Nevertheless, disruptions are still possible.
Customers abroad may yet encounter difficulties in accessing OP's online
services. This may also apply to customers operating in Finland whose data
communications have been routed through other countries.
Cards are functioning in Finland and abroad, but temporary disruptions are
possible.
The identity of the attacker is not yet known. There has been an exceptional
amount of malicious traffic from Finland and other countries. OP's experts are
investigating the situation in cooperation with the authorities, Tieto, which is
responsible for OP's data communications, and operators. OP has filed a report
of an offence to the police, and the National Bureau of Investigation is
investigating the matter.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused and are paying close attention to the
availability of our services. OP will also keep its customers up-to-date on the
situation via Facebook and Twitter.
