Johnson will play a key role in achieving fundraising objectives, strategic planning and campaign tactics for the The Cooper Institute's adult education, youth education and research programs. The Cooper Institute, pioneered by the "father of aerobics," Kenneth H. Cooper, MD, MPH, celebrates 45 years of health and wellness in 2015 with a commemorative event on November 5, 2015. Johnson previously served as Vice President of Strategic Development with the American Heart Association (AHA).

With extensive non-profit experience, Johnson led the AHA Dallas Heart Walk fundraising efforts from $875,000 in 2003 to $5.6M in 2014. She has a long-standing history of work with The Cooper Institute alongside Dr. Kenneth H. Cooper and Dr. Tyler Cooper. Prior to joining the American Heart Association she worked in fundraising and development for March of Dimes.

Actively involved in the non-profit community, Johnson served on AHA National Task Forces including: Healthy Behavior Platform, Go Red for Women, Mission and Revenue Initiative for Smaller Communities, Online Fundraising, Sodium Reduction and Corporate Strategic Planning. Johnson is a graduate of 2012-2013-Leadership North Texas, and Dan S. Petty, Servant Leadership Scholarship recipient. Johnson received her Bachelor of Science degree from Texas Christian University.
