Historic Coastal Resort Completes Yearlong Restoration, Offering a Unique and Relaxing Northwest Getaway

The unique vacation property is home to 24 private cabins situated on scenic beachfront cliffs along the Washington Coast, just two and a half hours west of Seattle. Each cabin retains its original charm, character and unparalleled ocean view while benefitting from updates that include a modern and fully equipped kitchen, pillow top beds, and fully renovated bathrooms and living spaces.
Always a family owned and operated resort, Iron Springs Resort was purchased by Olive Little in 1947 and operated by her and her family until shortly after her death. In early 2010, the property was purchased by the Seattle-based True family, who have vacationed at Iron Springs for more than 45 years and identified with the rich history and charm of the Resort. After a yearlong project to make critical improvements to the resort's infrastructure and carefully restore the cabins, the new owners are pleased that Iron Springs Resort is once again open and accepting reservations.
"As a family that returned to Iron Springs year after year, it was important for us to preserve the welcoming charm that made this Resort so unique," said co-owner Doug True. "Families such as ours have fond memories of the property, and have grown attached to the individual cabins as if they were their own. Now, as owners, we want to continue to give our guests the opportunity to rekindle old traditions and build new memories in that same setting, with the added comfort of some carefully upgraded modern amenities."
The location of each cabin remains unchanged. Olive Little did a masterful job selecting these locations to provide a stunning water view while maintaining natural privacy. The restoration was thoughtfully balanced with refreshing upgrades, such as distinctive Northwest artwork, granite countertops, hardwood floors, Wi-Fi and cable TV. At the same time the restoration incorporated historic accents like the original indoor cedar paneling repurposed as side tables, exterior siding repurposed for interior trim and wall paneling, and fallen on-site Spruce trees reused to make beautiful knotted wood benches. Each cabin has a fireplace or wood burning stove and the wide variety of floor plans range from a cozy one bedroom with an open floor plan and sweeping ocean views to a larger, family sized cabin with two bedrooms and two baths that can sleep up to 10 guests. In addition, there are several units which are connected and can be opened to accommodate a larger family or group. The varied size and style of the cabins easily accommodates everything from a couple looking for a quiet retreat to groups of various sizes and tastes.
Additional Resort amenities include a charcoal BBQ on each cabin deck, firewood, towels, shower essentials, and a hairdryer. Each kitchen has a full-sized refrigerator, oven and range, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, and coffee maker and is fully stocked with dishes, pots and pans, flatware, stemware, knives, and utensils, bringing the culinary comforts of home to a vacation destination. On-site laundry facilities allow guests to pack lightly for a longer stay and puts families with young children at ease. The new clam-cleaning station located just off the beach makes cleaning up after a day of digging for your dinner a breeze. Iron Springs is also a dog-friendly resort offering water bowls and dog towels to clean away the sand and saltwater from paws after a day of playing on the beach.
