Vancouver, B.C., January 12, 2015 - SecureCom Mobile (SecureCom, the Company) has appointed Mr. Greg Downey as CFO, Secretary, and Treasurer of the Company effective immediately.
Mr. Downey is an experienced financial manager with over 25 years working in the resource, manufacturing, and construction sectors. Most recently, he served as CFO for Fission Uranium Corp., a successful Canadian-based uranium exploration company operating in Canada's Athabasca Basin. His tenure with Fission Uranium follows years of service to public companies in a senior management role, primarily in the capacity of CFO and Director.
Mr. Downey has a broad knowledge and thorough understanding of financial and accounting principals gained over a career of providing business advisory and financial accounting services to medium and large size organizations. He is well versed in Canadian and global tax laws, as well as their application to public companies and their structures. His previous involvement with financial transactions within Canadian public companies give him a strong base for the execution of financing, public company structuring and future development for growth companies.
Mr. Downey obtained his Certified Management Accountant designation in 1992 and is a member of the Certified Management Accountants of British Columbia. He also holds a diploma in Business Administration from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology.
Mr. Downy replaces Mr. Peter Wilson who has acted in the capacity as CFO, Secretary, and Treasurer since the inception of the Company as a reporting issuer. Mr. Wilson remains a consultant to the Company.
