The Russell Frontier Index Reflects 6.9% Loss YTD Through July 18
(firmenpresse) - SEATTLE, WA -- (Marketwire) -- 07/21/11 -- The Russell Frontier Index reflected a -6.9% loss year-to-date, underperforming the Russell Developed Index (4.3%) and the Russell Emerging Markets Index (0.2%). The Russell Frontier Index posted negative returns for the first two quarters with a loss of -3.9% for the first quarter and loss of -1.8% during the second quarter of 2011.
For the month-to-date, the Russell Frontier Index and the Russell Developed Index both posted losses of -1.4%, while the Russell Emerging Markets Index fared slightly better with a negative return of -0.5%.
The Russell Global Index includes more than 10,000 securities in 48 countries and covers 98% of the investable global market. All securities in the index are classified according to size, region, country and sector. Daily Returns for the main components are available here:
