(firmenpresse) - VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- (Marketwired) -- 01/28/15 -- The Fraser Institute will release a new study comparing government and private-sector compensation in Alberta on Thursday, January 29.

The study, Comparing Government and Private Sector Compensation in Alberta, examines wages for government employees (federal, provincial, and local) and private-sector workers. It calculates the "wage premium" (i.e., the degree to which public-sector wages exceed private-sector wages) using Statistics Canada's Labour Force Survey from January to December 2013.

The report also compares four components of non-wage benefits: pensions, early retirement, job security and absences.

A news release with additional information will be issued via Marketwired at 6:30 a.m. (Mountain) on Thursday, January 29.

The full report will also be available as a free PDF download at .
