A Short Guide to Gay Tel Aviv

What to See
Tel Aviv itself is a relatively new city with a history of just over 100 years. Most of what you’ll find in the city is modern but several historic highlights include the Carmel market, theold train station and Jaffa, just ten minutes south of the city center. The old city of Jaffa dates back to more than 5,000 years and it’s been reclaimed with numerous chic restaurants, bars and art galleries sprinkled throughout the narrow and winding streets.

What to Eat & Drink
For an afternoon snack head to the neighborhood called NeveTzedek for some street food like a falafel or Sabich. Though Tel Aviv doesn’t specifically have a gay neighborhood, you’ll find plenty of gays hanging around this and others areas drinking at cafes, riding bikes and walking dogs. As daytime turns to evening, head over to the Brown Hotel and enjoy one of their exquisite cocktails on the rooftop patio.
Where to Go
Day time is best for strolling through the city, shopping or just relaxing on the beach. The area just next to the Hilton hotel is considered the gay beach of Tel Aviv and is appropriately named Hilton Beach. If you’ve had enough sun,go to Rothschild Boulevardto stroll around or relax at a cafe. Tel Aviv is world famous for its nightlife scene and you can experience the best the city has to offer at places like Kuli Alma – a new and trendy underground bar with outdoor lounging, indoor dancing and even a changing art gallery. Evita is quintessential gay bar in town and worth stopping by for a drink. For late night parties,Tel Aviv has big events like FFF or WE Party a couple times a month that change venues.
