The United States Geological Survey has stated, "The Elk Creek site, located south-east of Lincoln, NE, has the potential to be one of the largest global resources of niobium and rare-earth elements." Quantum has previously announced a large inferred niobium resource on the project, together with significant drill intercepts of rare earth elements ().
