CLEVELAND, February 10, 2015 - The Lubrizol Corporation announces that its
LifeSciences business will showcase their total solutions capabilities,
including those from the acquisition of Vesta, at the MD&M West 2015 Conference
(Booth 2221) February 10-12 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, CA.
The acquisition of contract manufacturer Vesta (Booth 2026), in combination with
the recent Particle Sciences alliance, means that the Lubrizol LifeSciences
business now offers complete, full-service solutions to the drug delivery and
medical device markets. Vesta complements Lubrizol's portfolio in the life
science sector by deepening the expertise in precision thermoplastic extrusion
and adding capabilities of silicone processing. Lubrizol's expertise in polymer
chemistry and its powerful global organization, along with Vesta's proven
success in manufacturing solutions, supports customers' success at every stage:
advanced polymer materials, R&D/ engineering to meet design challenges, quality
processes and manufacturing efficiency. This enhanced combination offers
tremendous opportunities for comprehensive solutions.

The featured LifeSciences products at MD&M West 2015 include: Aromatic
Carbothane(TM) TPUs, which offer improved chemical resistance and increased
resistance to creep. Carbothane TPUs are suitable for long-term implantation
applications, including catheters and devices introduced in the body for
durations of more than 30 days, and for permanent implants used in spinal and
orthopedic applications. Tecophilic(TM) TPUs have been specially formulated to
absorb equilibrium water contents from 20 to 1000% of the weight of dry resin.
Tecothane(TM) soft polymers offer an alternative to materials such as rubbers
and silicones, while still providing the benefits of a thermoplastic polymer.
They are plasticizer free and feature low specific gravity and better alcohol
and chemical resistance compared with standard polyurethanes. All grades of
Lubrizol TPUs carry all the necessary regulatory credentials.
