Powerball(R) Jackpot Approaches $500 Million, Third Largest Jackpot in Powerball History
(firmenpresse) - PHOENIX, AZ -- (Marketwired) -- 02/10/15 -- The Arizona Lottery announces the Powerball jackpot has reached $485 million. There was no jackpot winner for the Saturday, Feb. 7, Powerball drawing.
"It's so exciting to watch the jackpot climb," said Karen Bach, director of budget, products, and communications for the Arizona Lottery. "It's exhilarating to think that a Powerball ticket gives players the opportunity to win $485 million."
This is an example of the unpredictable and exciting nature of lotto jackpots. Even if players don't win the big jackpot, there are eight other ways to win, with prizes ranging from $4 up to $2 million. In fact, there were more than two million winners in Saturday's Powerball drawing alone. Over the past month, Arizona players have won nearly $3.5 million Powerball cash prizes, including two second prize $1 million dollar winners. The Arizona Lottery advises players to sign their tickets and check them as soon as possible to avoid missing out on any prizes they may have won.
The next Powerball drawing will be held Wednesday, Feb. 11. Tickets can be purchased at any Arizona Lottery retailer. Players can check their tickets by visiting
Players must be 21 years or older to purchase or redeem tickets. Winners have 180 days from the drawing date to claim their prize at an Arizona Lottery office or by mail. Overall odds vary by game.
