Lightower Named Authorized Vendor for State of Maryland Data Telecommunications Services
(firmenpresse) - BOXBOROUGH, MA -- (Marketwired) -- 02/11/15 -- , the premier provider of custom, high-capacity network services that ensure optimal application and business performance, announces that the State of Maryland Department of Information Technology has awarded the company a Data Telecommunications Services Master Contract. The award enables Lightower to offer Ethernet, Wavelengths, DS1, DS3, Flexible Private Line, and Internet to state agencies, counties, municipalities, and quasi-state agencies. Eligible entities under this award also include school districts, county and state colleges, public hospitals, public purchasing cooperatives and non-profit organizations.
State and local governments continue to move toward more advanced and efficient networking solutions in order to provide better services and efficiencies to the public, while also increasing communications with constituents. Lightower offers Maryland a mix of all-fiber, high-performance networking services combined with Lightower's unique and proven ability to custom build solutions to new locations.

Lightower services are available now to eligible entities in Maryland. The award was made in Service Category FA1 and FA3 in accordance with the terms and conditions stated in Request for Proposal #F50BB4400028.
In May of 2014, in the greater Baltimore region, adding over 270 miles of new fiber network. Earlier in 2014, in greater Washington D.C., including surrounding parts in Maryland.
