TE21 Partners With MetaMetrics to Add Lexile Measures to NC Assessments
(firmenpresse) - DURHAM, NC -- (Marketwired) -- 02/19/15 -- TE21, Inc., publisher of CASE Assessments, a District Administration Top 100 product, announced today it is partnering with MetaMetrics, the developer of the Lexile® Framework for Reading, to provide Lexile® measures for selected assessments in North Carolina.
The Lexile Framework is a scientific way to match readers with text using the same scale. Recognized as the standard for matching readers with texts, Lexile measures connect learners of all ages with resources at the right level of challenge. Lexile measures also provide a clear way to monitor progress toward college and career readiness.
TE21 president Carl Harris, a veteran superintendent and former Deputy Assistant Secretary at the U.S. Department of Education, praised the addition of Lexile measures to the English Language Arts benchmark assessments for North Carolina. Providing the Lexile information adds another component that teachers can use to help students prepare for state testing."
Harris has long been a supporter of MetaMetrics' Lexile Framework. A number of N.C. school districts, including Wake County Schools, the largest district in the state, administer TE21's CASE Assessments.
