APFUTURA joins Transmode's Enlighten Ecosystem

Stockholm, Sweden - 23(rd) February 2015 - Transmode, a global supplier of
packet optical networking solutions, today announced APFUTURA has joined
Transmode's Enlighten Ecosystem and the company's APEX outside plant management
system has been integrated into the Enlighten multi-layer management suite.
Optical networks are becoming ever more complex to manage as higher layer
functionality is increasingly added to packet-optical systems and as WDM-based
optical networks push deeper into local access networks. As these networks
transition into the access network environment then understanding the exact
routing of fiber and the location of all network elements such as fibers and
ducts, remote passive WDM filters and splice chambers becomes increasingly
important.
To address this requirement, Transmode has partnered with APFUTURA, a supplier
of advanced outside plant management software. APFUTURA's APEX outside plant
management system has been integrated into Transmode's Enlighten multi-layer
management suite and provides an extension to the usual packet-optical
management capabilities by linking the network to detailed mapping capabilities.
The APEX system includes inventory management, operation and network planning
and troubleshooting all at the street/duct/fiber/splice chamber level. APFUTURA
is also a Transmode sales partner operating across the Iberian Peninsula.
