Orchid Indulgence in the Botanical Garden in Gothenburg
The Botanical Garden Gothenburg hosts the annual Orchid exhibition from 1st - 22nd of March 2015. Here you'll find many rare varieties from Orchideengarten Karge in Dahlenburg.
(firmenpresse) - The collection of orchids at the Gothenburg Botanical Garden is the largest in Sweden. Since 1920 the collection is growing permanently and attracts visitor from all over the world.
The annual Orchid Indulgence takes place from 1st - 22nd of March 2015. Every sunday there will be given public hints on cultivating, fertilizing, watering and potting of Orchids.
Asa Kullin and Eva-Marie Dahlstroem, the swedish orchid experts from Gothenburgs Botanical Garden, went on a long journey to the north of Germany to see Marei Karge-Liphard, owner of Orchideengarten Karge.
They chose many scented rare orchid varieties for the orchid exhibition. Marei Karge- Liphard welcomed them and showed them around in her orchid garden and presented over 1000 varieties in one of Germanys biggest orchid growing businesses.
One orchid that is going to be sold in Gothenburg is a rare variety of Coelogyne flaccida.
Another extraordinary show plant is Phragmipedium longifolium. It has several (was heisst Rispen auf Englisch???) and is approximately 25 years old.
Who cannot make it to Gothenburg in March to indulge in beautiful orchids, is always very welcome at Orchideengarten Karge in Dahlenburg.
Marei Karge-Liphard is proud to present 110 years and 4 generations of family run business in her Orchid nursery in Dahlenburg near Hamburg in Germany.
16 greenhouses on 6.500 square metres and more than 1.000 Orchid species and Hybrids, many own crosses, can be visited and purchased.
This wide variety of Orchids is unique in Europe and is honoured with several prizes.
