MAPAL USA has new CEO and President
(PresseBox) - Since the beginning of February, Torsten Buchwald (47) has been directing business operations of MAPAL Inc. in the USA ? where it is represented by locations in Port Huron, Michigan, and Fountain Inn, South Carolina ? as the new Chief Executive Officer and President. Production at the two branch offices with about 175 employees focuses on PCD and carbide tools. MAPAL tool solutions are especially in demand in the automotive and aerospace industries. "We would like to make use of the strong growth potential of these industries and further expand project business", says Buchwald. He also points to a clear goal he has set: "We intend to boost sales of MAPAL USA Inc. significantly in the coming years."
Buchwald comes from Germany, where he studied at the Stuttgart University of Cooperative Education in Mechanical Engineering. His career led him through assignments in filtration and air conditioning technology to automotive and marine technology. After positions in testing and predevelopment, he was finally named director of the US subsidiary of an international automotive supplier. He has also participated actively in committees such as the German-American chamber of commerce.
