Applied Materials Announces Cash Dividend

SANTA CLARA, Calif., March 9, 2015 - Applied Materials, Inc. today announced
that its Board of Directors has approved a quarterly cash dividend of $0.10 per
share payable on the company's common stock. The dividend is payable on June
11, 2015 to stockholders of record as of May 21, 2015.
If Applied Materials' proposed business combination with Tokyo Electron Limited
closes before May 21, 2015, the record date will be a date before the closing
date. In such event, the dividend will be pro-rated, with stockholders receiving
$0.001087 per share for each day beginning February 19, 2015, the day after the
record date for the previous quarterly dividend, and ending on the record date.
The pro-rated dividend, which ensures that stockholders continue to receive
dividends at the current rate, will be payable within 60 days of the record
date.
