SFC Energy launches EFOY Pro 12000 Duo, a 500 W fuel cell for industrial applications

SFC Energy AG, leading provider of hybrid power solutions to the stationary and mobile power generation markets, introduces the latest addition to their portfolio of reliable off-grid power generators: The new EFOY Pro 12000 Duo is a 500 W direct methanol fuel cell for professional and industrial applications. The new power source is available for beta testing; sales will start in Q4 2015.
The EFOY Pro 12000 Duo integrates proven SFC fuel cell technology with maximum scalability and application flexibility in SFC's most powerful fuel cell to date: It features a nominal power of 500 W and a power capacity of 12,000 Wh per day. If required, several EFOY Pro 12000 Duos can be clustered to satisfy even higher energy demands: Up to 5 EFOY Pro 12000 Duos integrated into one cabinet will deliver 2.5 kWh per day. Cabinets can be combined as required.
EFOY Pro 12000 Duo offers decisive advantages. It delivers fully automatic, maintenance free power, 24 hours a day, in any weather and season, requiring absolutely no user intervention over extremely long periods of time: The fuel cell has two fuel connectors, to which up to two 28 l fuel cartridges can be connected. With this set up a 500 W application can be run continuously for 5 days fully autonomously.
Like all EFOY fuel cell the new power generator produces off-grid power on demand: The fuel cell is connected to the batteries and continuously monitors their charge state. As soon as this drops below a predefined level, the fuel cell automatically switches into operating mode and recharges the batteries. When they are full, the fuel cell returns into stand-by mode. No fuel is consumed in standby mode.
EFOY Pro 12000 Duo was specifically developed for easy integration into weatherproof cabinets as a robust off-grid and back-up power source for industrial applications in demanding environmental scenarios. It is fully automatic, maintenance free, remote-controlled, and will reliably operate at a temperature range between -20 ° C and +40° C. De-velopment of the EFOY Pro 12000 Duo was in part funded by the German NOW (National Organization for Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technology, www.now-gmbh.de).
Currently, the EFOY Pro 12000 Duo is already in test use in several wind energy as well as oil & gas applications.
