Apprio Awarded USAID U.S. Global Development Lab Blank Purchase Agreement Valued at $37.5M Over 5 Years
Apprio Partnering With USAID to Increase STIP and International Development
(firmenpresse) - WASHINGTON, DC -- (Marketwired) -- 03/10/15 -- Apprio Inc. is now supporting the United States Agency for International Development's (USAID's) new U.S. Global Development Lab under a new five-year, $37.5 million professional support services blank purchase agreement (BPA). Apprio supports the lab's program and management activities across five centers and three offices.
Because the lab is relatively new as USAID's most recent bureau startup -- launched in April 2014 -- Apprio's role is extensive in providing backbone support for the lab and its mission, which is to eliminate extreme poverty by 2030 by advancing Science, Technology, Innovation, and Partnership (STIP).
"Our people are working hand-in-hand with USAID to provide valuable services to run the lab," said Darryl Britt, Apprio's president. "We're making USAID's mission our mission by supporting the lab with sharp and energetic people who are committed to helping USAID take on and resolve some of the world's most demanding challenges."
The lab brings together a diverse set of partners to discover, test and scale breakthrough innovations to solve development challenges faster and cost effectively. Apprio brings world-class management and a talented group of international development professionals to help power the lab in all of its endeavors, domestic and abroad. The lab's nine focus areas include: food security and nutrition modernizing food assistance; ending preventable child and maternal deaths; energy access; water solutions: child literacy; financial inclusion; human rights, participation, and accountability; and humanitarian response.
The period of performance runs through September 2019.
Apprio is a provider of specialized technology solutions, particularly for the health, defense and homeland security markets. The company provides innovative IT and program services in healthcare IT, emergency response management and financial management. Apprio delivers the methodologies, discipline and thought-leadership provided by the large integrators, with the cost structure and collaboration offered by smaller firms.
