Surly Brewing Co. Partners With Minneapolis Company Tierney to Integrate High Quality, Yet Unobtrusive Technology for Their New Hall
(firmenpresse) - MINNEAPOLIS, MN -- (Marketwired) -- 03/11/15 -- , a Minnesota-based craft brewery, wanted a top-notch, unobtrusive, and complementary audio system with video elements for their new best-in-class beer hall in Southeast Minneapolis. "Really, the only brewery who was kind of doing what we were doing was a place like Stone in Escondido in Southern California with their bistro and world garden," said Brett Splinter, Director of Technology at Surly. "We wanted it to be cool; we wanted it to be able to be loud. Obviously, music is a big part of our culture and who we are. But, at the same time, we wanted it to not be the reason that somebody will come there. We wanted it to be complementary, and we wanted it to be non-obtrusive to the overall experience."
Local technology integrator Tierney responded with a series of systems designed to meet the needs of a full-service beer hall used for socializing, enjoying meals with friends and family, as well as a fine dining restaurant and an event center for wedding receptions or big business meetings. "Brett and the folks at Surly were adamant about having a system that blended into the space, and they also didn't want a system that required constant monitoring. It had to just work," said Jim Tierney, CEO of Tierney Brothers.
The finished technology includes multiple zones of audio throughout the public spaces and the production zones. Music is a big part of the culture at Surly, so it's playing all the time throughout the facility. The event spaces include digital projection, which allows for guests holding meetings or parties to present content or display video.
Both parties are happy with the end result. "We're very excited with the results, and the facility overall is gorgeous. Surly was a pleasure to work with," said Jim Tierney. Brett Splinter added, "If there were any issues along the way with any type of changes we had, it was very seamless for me to pass those along to our project manager, and he knew exactly who to engage to make it a very straightforward process to get it done in a timely fashion. From our experience, it's great -- it's a very user-friendly system."
