Copia Institute Gives Voice to New Generation in the Age of Information Abundance
Entrepreneurs and Innovators Lead the Way to Creative Policy Solutions
(firmenpresse) - SAN JOSE, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 03/12/15 -- The Copia Institute, a digital-native think tank from entrepreneur and author Mike Masnick, launched today with the Inaugural Summit at The Tech Museum of Innovation, featuring leading thinkers in technology, innovation and policy. The Copia Institute's mission is to help the tech community engage in tech policy like never before, injecting a community voice into policy debates while working to implement collaborative and creative solutions.
"Silicon Valley is home to the most creative innovators on the planet, so it's time our community comes together and focuses that energy on solving some of the most consequential and intriguing issues of our time," said Copia founder Mike Masnick.
The inaugural conference is addressing the issues of today while working to resolve the issues of tomorrow, from intellectual property and copyright laws to health data ethics, 3D printing, privacy, surveillance, free speech, broadband, drones and autonomous vehicles.

Ghilarducci, director of the California Governor's Office of Emergency Services, also addressed participants, speaking about innovations that have changed the way he deals with disaster management and the importance of collaboration between government and the tech industry to come up with the life-saving innovations of the future.
