Investment in the professionals of tomorrow: Vinnolit supports German scholarship “Deutschlandstipendium”
Six students from the Technical University Munich, the FAU University Erlangen-Nuremberg and the RWTH University Aachen are currently sponsored with a scholarship by the PVC manufacturer Vinnolit. The so-called “Deutschlandstipendium” supports high-performing and socially committed students and intensifies the cooperation between universities and companies.
(firmenpresse) - "The “Deutschlandstipendium” is a great opportunity for us to make early contacts with students and professors and become visible as a potential future employer," says Claudia Funke, who coordinates the university marketing at Vinnolit. "In addition, from the contacts often result internships, bachelor and master theses or excursions." Since 2011, Vinnolit sponsors students with the “Deutschlandstipendium” in the amount of 300 Euros per month, which are paid equally by the Company and the Federal Republic of Germany over two semesters. The scholarship students are selected taking into account their performance as well as personal and social commitment. "With the “Deutschlandstipendium”, Vinnolit assumes corporate social responsibility and invests in its own future and the future of society," says Dr Oliver Mieden, Head of Environmental Affairs and Corporate Communications. "We also wish to thank the universities and departments involved for their great commitment, which broke new ground in cooperation with private sponsors. Together, we are strengthening the regional network between economy and science."
Currently Vinnolit sponsors six students in the fields of chemistry and chemical engineering at the Technical University Munich, the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg and the Rheinisch-Westfälische Technical University Aachen with a scholarship. The company also regularly offers internships at various sites in Germany and in the UK, as well as bachelor and master theses. "The scholarship program is an important component to find qualified young staff," says Operations Director Dr Thomas Karcher. "For example, one of our employees started as an intern, then got a scholarship and has joined Vinnolit as a trainee after his graduation." The two-year trainee program of Vinnolit is designed for technical and scientific graduates and is to prepare for future management tasks. "As a research and manufacturing company, Vinnolit is attractive to many students, who want to work practically and experience a large-chemical plant," adds Funke.
In addition to the “Deutschlandstipendium”, Vinnolit also participates in university job fairs such as the "Bonding" in Aachen and Erlangen, or "IKOM" at the Technical University of Munich. The company also regularly organizes "Student-info-days", where interested students can learn about the plants on-site and the various career opportunities at Vinnolit.
