The governments of Canada and Northwest Territories congratulate the members of the Katlodeeche First Nation on the grand opening of their wilderness lodge in Sandy Creek, Hay River, Northwest Territories.
Located on the banks of Sandy Creek, the new wilderness lodge is equipped with community administrative areas, council chambers and community meeting space. It will be used to host conferences, as a gathering place for the community, and possibly as an educational facility for schoolchildren.
This infrastructure project will help the community, located east of Hay River, to attract tourists, and will serve as meeting space for surrounding communities, which could provide spin off economic benefits for businesses in the community.
