FMB – The supplier show for mechanical engineering 2015: A record number of bookings to date
Well over six months before FMB - the supplier show for mechanical engineering opens its doors for the 11th time at Bad Salzuflen Exhibition Centre from 4 to 6 November 2015, trade show organiser Clarion Events Deutschland GmbH is reporting a record number of bookings made by exhibitors. Show Manager Christian Enßle: "We already had firm reservations from 263 companies in the middle of February, compared with 226 for the same time last year. The largest hall of the exhibition centre is already virtually completely full with 95% of its area covering 12,300 m² booked up."
(firmenpresse) - This means that the continual growth achieved by FMB is set to go on in its eleventh year of existence: There has been an almost three-fold increase in the number of participating companies since the first show. Some new faces among the exhibitors at this year's show will include Leuze electronic (sensor technology), LTI Motion (drive and control engineering), Otto Ganter (standard parts), Rollon (linear motion systems), Steute (switching devices) and Ventzki Handling Systems.
A fact that just as convincingly bears testimony to the success of the fair is the large number of companies which have been exhibiting their products and services each year since the beginning of the event. These include, among others, Beckhoff, Bosch Rexroth, Dreckshage, Ferchau and MSF-Vathauer.
The fair was initially aimed at exhibitors and visitors from East Westphalia-Lippe (shortened to OWL in German) - a core region of European mechanical engineering and its suppliers comprising around 700 enterprises and approx. 100,000 employees. In the meantime, FMB has long since established itself beyond the borders of OWL. Many exhibitors are based in South Germany - Bosch Rexroth, Festo, Pilz, Siemens and Wittenstein can be mentioned here as some well-known examples, and the fair attracts visitors from the entire northern half of Germany as well as neighbouring countries such as the Netherlands and Belgium. Furthermore, there are cooperation projects with industrial associations, including from Denmark, the Netherlands and Turkey whose members are, for example, represented at FMB with joint stands.
In this constellation the exhibitors cover the entire spectrum of vendor parts for mechanical and plant engineering. Drive and control engineering are represented here just as much as assembly and handling technology, metal and plastics processing companies as well as qualified service providers, for instance in the field of product development.
Even if the show continues on its course of growth - its core concept will still remain in 2015 as well. Christian Enßle: The main focus is clearly on discussions. Engineers, buyers and decision-makers come together at FMB to engage in talks on potential joint projects and to work hand in hand on the development of solutions."
