(firmenpresse) - SALT LAKE CITY, UT -- (Marketwired) -- 04/08/15 -- Cushman & Wakefield | Commerce today announced that Tammy Rasmussen, Property Manager for the Asset Services group of Cushman & Wakefield | Commerce, received the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) of Utah's TOBY Award for the outstanding property management of 170 South Main, a contender in the 250,000-499,999 square feet office building category.

BOMA's The Outstanding Building of the Year (TOBY) award winners are recognized for excellence in building management and operations. Judging is based on a building's community involvement, tenant relations programs and amenities, environmental and "green" policies and procedures, building personnel training programs, emergency preparedness plans and an onsite visit. The judging panel is comprised of highly esteemed professionals from the real estate and property management industry.

The competition consists of three levels. It begins at the BOMA local association level; winning entries advance from there to the regional level and, finally, regional winners advance to the international level. 170 South Main has won the local TOBY award twice, prior to this year.

170 South Main is a distinguished class A building in the Central Business District of Salt Lake City, UT. The 15-story building has a unique façade and oval shape, which distinguish it from any other in the city. It was the first LEED certified high-rise office building in Utah, under the Existing Building Operations & Maintenance rating system. It has been Energy Star certified since 2011. The building has an on-site management and engineering team, 24-hour on-site security, 360-degree views of the city, and immediate access to TRAX, other mass transit, restaurants, shopping areas, and community centers. There are several community events held annually, and strict policies in place to reduce the building's carbon footprint and promote sustainability.

"The TOBY Awards are the most prestigious and comprehensive programs of their kind in the commercial real estate industry," said Mike Lawson, President of Cushman & Wakefield | Commerce. "Tammy and our entire property management group is a highly competent and resourceful management team. They run an operationally efficient building and their high level of tenant retention is a source of pride. This award is significant in that it recognizes our team's efforts in managing the building as best in class -- a well-deserved honor."

More than 150 attendees celebrated the outstanding buildings, personnel, and local members here in Utah with an energetic event. The program was complete with the keynote presentation by Val Hale, Executive Director with the Utah Governor's Office of Economic Development
