United Peoples Worldwide Launches Its Rights Initiative, a Non-Profit Lobbying Group Focused on Repealing, Amending and Creating Laws
Registered Voters Debate Various Issues and Vote Online as a Part of UPW's Process to Successfully Lobby for Legislative Changes on Their Behalf

(firmenpresse) - ORLANDO, FL -- (Marketwired) -- 05/06/15 -- United Peoples Worldwide (UPW) is announcing the launch of its Rights Initiative, the first of nine global initiatives total, in hopes to empower registered voters, hold their elected representatives more accountable, weaken the influence of money in politics and expand the power of their vote beyond the ballot box. UPW's Rights Initiative, which is focused on repealing, amending and creating laws to solve social issues and secure civil and human rights worldwide, is now open to registered voters for membership. The Rights Initiative makes it easy for registered voters in democratic countries around the world to be informed about the issues that are important to each other by bringing them together in a neutral, online meeting place. UPW's patent-pending, online voting, debating and polling platform provides an efficient way to collect the votes and opinions of registered voters in order to successfully lobby elected representatives for legislative changes on their behalf.
As a part of its Rights Initiative, UPW will lobby for legislative changes as a solution to issues submitted by registered voters. UPW is now polling registered voters on hot-button issues such as raising the minimum wage, immigration reform, same-sex marriage, the wearing of body cameras by police officers while on duty, healthcare reform, and the legalization of marijuana.
"When laws change, lives change; where laws are different, lives are different," said Kionn Alls, Pharm.D. Founder and Executive Director of United Peoples Worldwide. "We're seeking to bridge the gap between congressional representatives and their constituents' opinions in order to increase accountability in Congress and to weaken the influence of money in politics. We give registered voters a simple, yet effective avenue that allows them to voice their opinions, but also allows us to attach quantitative evidence of support for specific legislative changes wanted by registered voters."
Any registered voter who becomes a UPW Rights Initiative member can submit issues for consideration. If an issue has a legislative solution, then an online poll is created and voted on by other members to gauge support for legislative action on their issue. If support for legislative action reaches a certain threshold, a proposed bill will be drafted by UPW's Rights Initiative Legal Team. After the poll closes, elected representatives will be sought out and lobbied to sponsor the proposed bill for signing into law based on voter districts with the highest number of online votes. UPW will also track the sponsored bill through the legislative process and provide live updates to members, via their website, as the bill becomes a law.
