RAID Inc. Launches Its Latest Cost-Effective Flash Storage Appliance in a 2U 60-Bay

(firmenpresse) - ANDOVER, MA -- (Marketwired) -- 05/12/15 -- RAID Inc. announces the launch of a cost-effective flash storage appliance that holds 48TB of enterprise SATA SSDs.
Each SATA SSD has the endurance to perform 4 drive writes per day, can sustain over 5.7TB of writes over the life of the drive, and is capable of performance of 500Mb/s for read and write speeds. The enclosure has 6 SAS connections into the appliance and can sustain up to 12GB/s of bandwidth and 5 million IOPs.
Besides functioning as a standalone external Direct Attached Storage (DAS) JBOD for standard serial attached SCSI (SAS) host connects, it is a perfect expansion companion for other storage applications that demand high performance at a low cost like Microsoft Storage Spaces, ZFS, Luster/ZFS, and GPFS Front End Flash Solutions. List price for a 48TB solution is $72,000.
"With up to 60 side-mounted 2.5" form factor SSDs or SAS HDDs per 2U enclosure, the industry-unique EBOD is an ultra-dense, space- and power-saving solution," said Robert Picardi, CEO of RAID Inc.
