Düsseldorf/Berlin, August 2010. The further development of conventional and
alternative drivetrain technologies will decide the future viability and
competitiveness of the automotive industry. The consequences of the upheaval in
the automotive industry resulting from further efficiency improvements, a
changed awareness of mobility and electrically-powered vehicles include some
major achievements in terms of innovation. This is the second time that
conference and seminar organizer CTI has offered the "CTI CTI Young Drive
Experts Award" for the encouragement of up-and-coming academics in the field of
drivetrain technologies. Under the patronage of Rainer Brüderle, the Federal
Minister of Economics and Technology, young engineers are invited to submit
their research projects, their degree dissertations and doctoral theses or their
Bachelor's and Master's theses on the wide-ranging topics of drivetrain and
transmission technology by October 29, 2010.
The winners will be able to present their theses to an expert audience in the
context of the "Transmission Expo" exhibition at the "9th International CTI
Symposium on Innovative Automotive Transmissions and Drivetrains" in Berlin on
November 30 and December 1, 2010, and will receive their awards in front of the
plenary session of the CTI Symposium on November 30, 2010. The best theses will
be evaluated by a jury of independent experts. The jury includes Prof. Dr.-Ing.
h.c. Albert Albers (University of Karlsruhe), Prof. Dr.-Ing. Ferit Küçükay
(Technical University of Brunswick), Prof. Dr.-Ing. Stephan Rinderknecht
(Technical University of Darmstadt) and Prof. Dr.-Ing. Peter Tenberge (Technical
University of Chemnitz) and Prof. Dr.-Ing. Heinz Ulbrich (Technical University
of Munich).
"With innovative technologies, German companies will continue to hold a leading
position on the world's markets. The challenges for the automotive industry are
great - as are the opportunities," states Federal Minister of Economics Rainer
Brüderle in his greeting to the CTI Symposium. He also says he is delighted to
become patron of the CTI Young Drive Experts Award and praises the broad
spectrum of the symposium, including the encouragement of up-and-coming talent.
"We want to encourage up-and-coming engineers to maintain their enthusiasm for
the interesting and important topic area of drivetrain and transmission
technology, and in addition to the award, we offer the winners an ideal starting
position for making personal contacts in the industry," said Sylvia Zenzinger,
Project Manager of the CTI Symposium.
The evaluation will be completed by November 13, 2010. After the award ceremony
on November 30, the theses will be published on the homepage
http://www.getriebe-symposium.de as of December 6.
