Extra Mile Man to Hike 440 Miles Across Portugal
(firmenpresse) - LOS ANGELES, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 05/12/15 -- Motivational author and speaker doesn't just talk about ideas such as "going the extra mile" and "living the life you love." He lives them. The six-time author and motivational keynoter will be hiking 440 miles from Lisbon, Portugal, to Finisterre, Spain, starting on May 26, 2015.
"I'm a big believer in staying sharp," Anderson says. "Life has a way of dulling our potential unless we break everyday routines and create opportunities that push us outside our comfort zones. Hiking as far as I can each day in a new country and not knowing where I'll eat or stay has the potential to definitely sharpen me."
Creating adventures to sharpen himself is nothing new for Anderson. He has biked solo across the United States twice, hiked 550 miles across Spain in 27 days, run a 100-mile race, completed a 40-day around-the-world trip and has been to over 40 countries. Immediately following the Portugal hiking adventure, Anderson will be heading to the Philippines on a three-week speaking tour with the expectation of reaching 20,000 Filipinos.
"Dream big and take bigger action," Anderson shares. "Life is too short to wish for second chances. Now is my chance to not only live the life I love, but to make the biggest difference I can."

On November 1, 2014, 527 mayors and cities made the unique declaration and recognized those in their local communities who were going the extra mile in volunteerism and service.
