(firmenpresse) - TORONTO, ONTARIO -- (Marketwired) -- 05/27/15 -- On Thursday, May 28, the Fraser Institute will release a new study spotlighting the effectiveness of energy and environmental regulations implemented by governments throughout Canada in recent years.

The Principle of Targeting in Energy and Environmental Policy examines regulations such as bans on plastics bags, prohibitions against 100-watt incandescent light bulbs, household appliance standards and ethanol blending mandates and asks the question: Is there a less costly and more targeted way to improve the environment?

The study also reviews the efficiency of Ontario's Green Energy Act of 2009 which provided incentives for builders and operators of wind turbines and solar panels.

A news release with additional information will be issued via Marketwired at 5: 30 a.m. (EST) on Thursday, May 28.
