Susceptibility to mosquito bites often determined genetically
It is known that mosquitoes do not fly to every human being. Often it is claimed, people with sweet blood would be stung more frequently. Re-searchers have found by a study of twins, that genetic material can have an impact on the risk to receive mosquito bites. While identical twins have a similar popularity among mosquitoes, the identical twins have a differ-ent popularity. The researchers came to the conclusion that genes can affect the body odor. It can have an impact on the risk of mosquito bites. Higher susceptibility to mosquito bites also have pregnant women, corpu-lent people and people with a higher body temperature.
Activity of mosquitoes at dusk, moisture and heat is particularly high
At dusk the mosquitoes prefer to go hunting. Especially at elevated tem-peratures and high humidity, the activity of the mosquitoes is particularly high. Therefore, they are often found near ponds, rivers and lakes. The mosquitos are whirring and buzzing around our bodies and can disturb our activities and sleep significantly. They are particularly attracted by the smell of sweat and a higher body temperature.
Itching, swelling and infections by mosquito bites particularly unpleasant
Only female mosquitoes bite, because they need blood to develop their eggs. If a mosquito has found its victim, it attaches itself full of blood by means of its suction pipe. With the mosquito bite a high protein secretion is injected into the puncture site. As a result the body releases histamine and itching and swelling can follow. Scratching at the injection site may increase the itching and inflammation can occur.
Itch Relief MosQuit® as a gentle and reliable aide through the summer
If a mosquito has bitten a rapid assistance is necessary in order to avoid the unpleasant consequences. Many insect repellents have partially side effects because they contain chemical ingredients. They also do not al-ways have the desired effect.
A gentle alternative is the Itch Relief MosQuit® of DAVITA®. The elec-tronic high-tech device in the form of a mouse works without chemical additives. The heating surface of the device has to be put on the injection site immediately after an insect bite for about 3 to 5 seconds. Due to the concentrated heat the insecticide can be decomposed. So itching and swelling can be alleviated or eliminated within a short time. The device has the advantage that the user himself can determine the optimum ap-plication time for his skin type. An integrated acoustic signal makes this possible. The unit can also be turned off manually at any time. Another advantage is that the user can choose between two temperature ranges. For children and adults with sensitive skin the lower temperature range of about 45 ° C is especially suitable. Adults with normal skin should choose the higher temperature of about 50 ° C. The device can also be used after horsefly bites.
