GM Canada May Sales Increase 4 Per Cent and Leads the Industry in Pickup Truck Sales

(firmenpresse) - OSHAWA, ONTARIO -- (Marketwired) -- 06/02/15 -- Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac dealers delivered 27,462 vehicles in May 2015, an increase of 4 per cent from May 2014 with sales of the Chevrolet Colorado and Silverado and GMC Canyon and Sierra leading the industry pickup segment with 10,907 deliveries.
GM's three-truck strategy of mid-size, light duty and heavy duty trucks is resonating in the marketplace and was designed to provide customers with a full range of options and choices in pickup trucks to suit their individual needs. This approach positioned GM to respond to this month's continued strong customer demand for pickup trucks.
John Roth, vice president, sales, service and marketing for GM Canada said, "Chevrolet had a very strong month of May with car sales up 14 per cent and truck sales up 6 per cent versus the year before. Chevrolet Corvette sales were up over 200% in May, its best sales month in Canada since 1980 when Billy Joel's 'It's Still Rock and Roll To Me' was #1 on the Billboard Top 100."
GM customers are also now enjoying 4G LTE technology on more than 30 Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, and Cadillac vehicles, the largest deployment in the automotive industry. 4G offers mobile data speeds up to 10 times faster than 3G, allowing GM vehicles to act as Wi-Fi hot spots, allowing customers to connect up to seven different devices.
