The Gallery Collection Announces 8th Annual $10,000 Create-A-Greeting-Card Contest Winner & 9th Annual Contest Kickoff
(firmenpresse) - RIDGEFIELD PARK, NJ -- (Marketwired) -- 06/17/15 -- The Gallery Collection, a leading publisher of , is proud to announce the winner of its 8th Annual Create-A-Greeting-Card scholarship contest. Jennifer Soriano of West Saint Paul, Minnesota will receive this year's $10,000 award for her submission. In addition to a personal scholarship, Jennifer's school, Academy of Art University in MN, will receive a $1,000 prize.
Jennifer's hand-painted work depicts three delicious cupcakes on a chevron table cloth. Her design beat out thousands of other entrants to be crowned this year's winner. Jennifer's design and all of the finalists can be viewed on the page on The Gallery Collection website along with previous years' winners.
Jennifer plans to use her scholarship money towards her Master's Degree in illustration. "Winning this scholarship is for me, a confirmation that my family's faith in my ability as an artist is well placed," said Jennifer when learning she was this year's scholarship recipient. "It makes all the late nights of studying and painting in the studio into the wee hours and still putting in a full day's work at my job as well as being a mother a little lighter."
This marks the eighth consecutive year The Gallery Collection has hosted a greeting card design contest. High school and college students 14 years of age or older can submit original photos, paintings, drawings, and graphic designs to be considered for the front of a greeting card. Thousands of entries are judged based on overall aesthetic appeal, quality of execution, creativity, and suitability as a Gallery Collection greeting card until one winning design is chosen in April of 2016. The lucky winner receives a $10,000 scholarship, as well as having his or her design made into an actual greeting card to be added to The Gallery Collection's extensive line.
