Dairy Council Dairy MAX Organizes Events and New Educational Video to Promote Dairy Foods

(firmenpresse) - GRAND PRAIRIE, TX -- (Marketwired) -- 06/18/15 -- Dairy farmers will "Celebrate All Things Dairy," during the month of June, typically referred to as June Dairy Month nationwide. , a local dairy council for Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico and southwest Kansas, will promote eating healthy foods such as milk, cheese and yogurt.

"Without a dairy farmer's commitment to their land, cows and making quality milk, we wouldn't be able to enjoy delicious and nutritious dairy foods," said Marty McKinzie, vice-president of Industry Image and Relations for Dairy MAX. "June is a great time to celebrate all their hard work."

Dairy MAX is celebrating June Dairy Month in an extra-special way with a video featuring the "Dairy Warriors," including Dallas Cowboys Safety Barry Church, Fuel Up to Play 60 program participant Cody Smith, and Bryan Lanting, a dairy farmer from Stephenville, Texas. In the video, Barry and Bryan send Cody through various challenges that aim to improve his -- and the viewer's -- dairy knowledge.

"Dairy farmers work 365 days a year to deliver real cow's milk that can't be matched," said Dr. Lana Frantzen, vice-president of Health & Wellness for Dairy MAX. "Cow's milk is a unique naturally nutrient-rich beverage with health benefits that are supported by a century of science."

In addition to watching the video on Dairy MAX's YouTube channel, the organization is sponsoring a month-long Pinterest contest highlighting great tasting foods that feature dairy. Participants are encouraged to re-pin Dairy MAX recipes on using the hashtag #DairyAmazing to win the ultimate cake-baking kit, including a KitchenAid mixer.

"Texas dairy farmers are proud to provide the wholesome goodness of dairy and partner with the Dallas Cowboys to support fun, wholesome foods for all," said Bryan Lanting, dairy farmer from Stephenville, Texas. "Thanks for your support!"

This kind of dairy promotion is a tradition. For more than 75 years, June Dairy Month has promoted dairy consumption during peak milk production. Originally called National Milk Month, the celebration has evolved across the Southwest with food demonstrations, festivals, and parades.
